About Us

The consortium of dedicated CMI fathers and CSC sisters is the back bone of St. George Education society, which runs St. George School, Malad (East), Mumbai. St. George School started serving the people of Kurar in the year 1967.

CMI (Carmelites of Mary Immaculate) fathers serve the institution, drawing inspiration from St. Chavara, a great visionary, reformer and religious leader of the 19th century. CMI congregation is the first indigenous religious congregation for men in India. They have dedicated to education at all levels. At present it comprises of a vast network of 448 institutions - including over 200 schools, 14 university affiliated colleges, 1 engineering college, 12 technical institutes, 1 university, 1 medical college, 3 B.Ed. colleges, 5 special schools, 18 non formal educational institutions and 17 cultural centres spread all over India and beyond.

CSC (Congregation of Sisters of Charity) sisters serve the institution drawing inspiration from the patron St. Vincet De Paul and their founder late Rev. Fr. Augustine John Ukken a great visionary. In conformity with the charism of the congregation which is to witness the Compassionate Love of Jesus, sisters remain engaged in different services such as old age homes, children's home, village work, medical care, education especially in backward and rural sector, special school for the disabled, parish work, family apostolate, catechism etc.
